This year the news of several Latin American candidates for Miss universe has been full of novel scandals for the international press. We can cite the case of the Venezuelan candidate for Miss World Veruska Ljubisavljevic who requested the suspension of the event by arguing that she was within the age limit to participate won the lawsuit and will represent her country, according to the newspaper El Universal . On the other hand, the representative of Spain, Angela Ponce, was imposed as the first transgender woman to get the crown unleashing some comments from influential people around the realization of this beauty pageant, who later publicly introduced her boyfriend to the media. The current Miss Universe is Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa who was crowned on 26 November 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
